Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Board of the ACAPS, the scientific and organising committee and ourselves we have had the pleasure of welcoming you to Leuven for this 12th ACAPS conference.  The program contained 5 keynote speakers, 9 thematic seminars, 64 oral and 168 poster presentations. We are especially pleased to have been able to present such a diverse program. This provided you with the opportunity of listening to experts in your own field of interest and to hear what your colleagues in others fields have been doing. 

For the third time this important meeting was held outside of the French hexagon, revealing the international orientation of the ACAPS-society. The conference was organised by the Faculty of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences of the K.U.Leuven, one of the oldest Universities in the world founded in 1425.

We were especially pleased to welcome the large number of junior researchers who are the future of our profession. During the three days of the conference, the activity of these junior members has been highlighted with a best junior presentation award for both posters and oral communications. There were nearly 100 participants for the prize, from which the 6 best presentations were selected. We are grateful for the support of MARS, RSscan, Human Kinetics and Editions de boeck in this undertaking.

In what has become a tradition, this 12th international conference was the place and time of scientific exchanges, discussions, and communication in the various areas of sport and movement sciences among members of the ACAPS community.

As Leuven is a very authentic and pleasant city, we hope you enjoyed your stay with us.
